Buddha’s Birthday…and mine

So my birthday was last weekend. I thought it’d be a good excuse to get out of Seoul, so I rented a car and my friends and I headed out to Yang Pyeong. We rented a house there for the night, and I had a great time. I definitely want to head back out there sometime (when it’s not raining).

The 26th happened to also be the parade in Seoul celebrating Buddha’s Birthday (Lotus Lantern Festival). And I’ve gotta give it to him: his party outdid mine. A hundred thousand people walking down the street with lanterns of various sorts…impressive!

If you missed it, Korea Beat has it that a lot of the lanterns will be on display at Bongeun-sa temple across from the COEX until May 5th.

  1. Excellent photos! I love the colors. What kind of camera do you use? I’ll be looking for a new one soon. Oh, and I just saw you Muay Thai album on Facebook, also very cool.

  2. Thanks! I use the Canon 30D, and almost all shots are with the Sigma fixed 30mm F/1.4. Great lens! What camera do you have?
