대학로

One of my friends is opening a soju bar in Daehangno (대학로), and asked me to take pictures of the neighborhood to decorate one of the walls. 대학로 is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Seoul, and conveniently close to where I live. Seoul National University used to be located there and is the origin of the area’s name.

My friend’s bar is called 혜화동 사람들. Take the 혜화 (Hyewha) subway station exit 4, walk straight out, pass the Doors bar and it’s on your left.

And if you feel like listening to something, here’s The Killers – Losing Touch.

  1. so i just discovered your blog and i have to say that your pictures are AMAZING!!! I love the pics of the kids you teach. did you give them their “american” names? if so, why is “sarah” making a 20% on her test? haha

  2. Thanks!!! haha…actually I did give the English names to my first graders. I have a Chris, Ben, Sarah, etc… So yeah…sorry about her grades, she’s not representing you too well! If it gives you any consolation, Chris dropped out of class awhile back…

  3. Great Job!!!
